Defining, Defending, and Developing Ethnic Studies was an event sponsored by the Cross-Cultural Center as part of their Critical Cougars: Unlearn. Relearn. series dedicated to engaging the student body in dialogues about social justice. This particular event taught students about Ethnic Studies after it had officially been approved as a major in December 2017. Previously available as a minor at CSUSM since 2002, the Cross-Cultural Center sponsored this event to advertise the major as well as exhibit graduate school and career possibilities. (Daniela Carreon discusses her experience as one of the first graduates of CSUSM's Ethnic Studies program.

Pictured here is a handout from the event held on the 9th of April 2019.
