Jay Franklin was a peer mentor at the Cross-Cultural Center at CSUSM during the early days of both the program and university. Franklin was instrumental in the creation of many of the programs and early marketing campaigns for the center. As a peer mentor, Franklin provided intersectional support for LGBTQ+ students. Eventually, he made his way back to CSUSM and currently works in the Dean of Student Affairs office.
